We've been planning this cruise for months now. We convinced our best friends Doug and Betty to join us and this riverboat cruise will be a new adventure for them.
Since we also ride roller coasters in our spare time it was imperative that we find a few new ones to ride before, during or after the cruise. Doug & Betty have been to Dollywood and they said we would love it. We've never been and the park has a new coaster so on the itinerary it goes.
Using the Internet we found Dolly's location and when it is open. It needed to be our first destination. After that decision we had to see how close we could fly to it. Seattle to Memphis to Knoxville, TN got us within an hour of Pigeon Forge, TN. We'll be going there on Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday - a few coasters but lots of shows to see.
Since we board the Delta Queen on the following Tuesday in Nashville that would be our next destination. We did lots of research on things to do in Nashville then the four of us would get together and decide which ones to do. D&B had been there before so they kind of let us choose what was most interesting to us and they offered their opinions of places we picked.
