Arriving in Tennessee

The flights were uneventful except for one of those unfortunate "The tower is telling us we've got to change runways because the wind shifted 180 degrees because of the thunderstorm that just passed through." That delayed us about 50 minutes.

We picked up our Dodge Caravan at Budget. I asked the nice lady if I could drop the van off at the Nashville Airport without any additional charges and she said YES! Perfect. Now I won't have to drop off Karen, Betty, and Doug and go into downtown Nashville to drop off the car.

We found our way to Knoxville and visited the 1982 World's Fair site. They still had a few buildings there and the nice stream, waterfall, and rocks, and the FUNSPHERE. It is a globe sitting on a stick 266' up in the air. The ride up is free. Yes! Nice view.

We drove down to the Tennessee River looking for the Star of Tennessee riverboat but it was out on a private dinner tour this evening. We strolled along the waterfront walkway for a 1/2 mile or so and Doug got a bit wet clowning around behind a waterfall.
