Cruise Change!

Karen got a call this afternoon that the Delta Queen would NOT be docking in Nashville at the end of its current cruise. It would be stopping in Clarksville, TN because the lock between Clarksville and Nashville is closing for repairs on Aug 19th.

What this means for us is that we have to catch a shuttle bus at the Nashville Airport to take us to Clarksville (she asked if we could take "the last train to Clarksville" but they said no). The shuttle is provided by Majestic Cruises and is supposed to leave the airport at 3pm or so.

One small problem is that we have a cruise on the General Jackson paddlewheel boat scheduled for 11:30a - 2:30p. The airport is 9 miles away. We are supposed to drop our rental car off in downtown Nashville (which is 8 miles away in a different direction). So, we made the decision that I would drop off Karen, Betty, and Doug and all the luggage and then drive the rental car to downtown and catch a cab back out to the airport and we would all get into the shuttle and go to Clarksville. (The run-on sentence was necessary because we'll really be running to make this schedule!)

The DQ is supposed to leave Clarksville sometime around 5 or 6pm. It could leave later since it is only about 7 hours of cruising time to our next destination, Dover, TN. We shall see.

Anyway, all of that is 5 days away. There is so much more to tell before we get to that day. Stay tuned...
